Agrofin \u2013 Hcda. La Bella was founded in the year 1999<\/strong>, settled in the Pumpkin Enclosure<\/strong>, Malimpia parish<\/strong>, of the Rosa Z\u00e1rate canton (Quinind\u00e9)<\/strong>, in the Esmeraldas province, Ecuador<\/strong>This region is characterized by its rainy weather<\/strong>, its ecological richness and for being a cadmium-free zone<\/strong>, a key condition for the production of high-quality, high-value fine aroma cocoa in international markets.<\/p>

Cacao is one of Ecuador's flagship products and a historical pillar of its agricultural economy, recognized worldwide for its sensory profile, genetic diversity, and ancestral origins. In this context, Agrofin \u2013 Hcda. Initially, the land in the area was intended for African palm production<\/strong>, a widespread activity in the territory. However, with the passage of time and a critical analysis of the environmental, social, and economic impact of traditional production models, the hacienda evolved into a system based on the organic cocoa production<\/strong>without the use of chemical pesticides, prioritizing clean, biosecure agricultural practices that are compatible with human health and the conservation of ecosystems.<\/p>

Organic and sustainable cocoa production responds to a global need today: consumers, chocolate industries, and societies demand responsibly produced food, with traceability<\/strong>, environmental respect<\/strong>, food security<\/strong> and social ethics<\/strong>Agrofin \u2013 Hcda. La Bella takes on this challenge, understanding that producing without pesticides not only protects the environment, but also contributes directly to the health of agricultural workers<\/strong>, of the consumers and of the territory where the food is produced.<\/p>

The hacienda was founded and led by the Dr. Hugo Hern\u00e1n Zum\u00e1rraga Soto (+)<\/strong>whose vision integrated technical knowledge, environmental awareness, and social commitment from the outset. His leadership laid the foundation for an agricultural production model that conceives of cacao not only as a commercial product, but as a local development instrument<\/strong>territorial identity and productive sovereignty.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Agrofin \u2013 Hcda. La Bella is located in a historically vulnerable rural area<\/strong>where poverty, limited infrastructure, and social inequalities have shaped the region's development. Faced with this reality, agribusiness is making a commitment that goes beyond its own economic growth: grow together with the community<\/strong>to generate opportunities, strengthen local capacities and contribute to the sustainable poverty reduction<\/strong>.<\/p>

Over the years, Agrofin \u2013 Hcda. La Bella has evolved from a family farm into a structured agribusiness<\/strong>, capable of fulfilling the quality, safety, security and environmental standards<\/strong> required by our clients and by society. This evolution has been made possible thanks to a comprehensive understanding of Internal and external context of the cocoa and its derivatives value chain<\/strong>allowing us to stay at the forefront of production processes, monitoring, control and continuous improvement.<\/p>

Currently, the agribusiness is managed by a leadership focused on consolidating Agrofin \u2013 Hcda.
